R7: Ink - The Narrative Scripting Language Behind '80 Days' and 'Sorcery!'

Watch the GDC 2016 talk (63 minutes) given by Joseph Humfrey, art and code director of Inkle. All of Inkle's games have been authored using an in-house text-based scripting language designed for rapidly authoring branching text-based content in a writer-friendly environment. This talk will outline how the language works, and how it can be used to drive a game's content, facilitate branching, and even allows complexity that approaches procedural narrative in some scenes.
